01. About this policy
This Privacy Policy describes personal information handled through Cooper’s website, membership applications, and brand and activator workspaces. It covers applicants, members, organization representatives, and website visitors.
It does not replace the independent privacy policies of opportunity owners, websites you visit through links, or providers you interact with directly. Cooper’s Terms of Use describe use of the Service.
02. Information we collect
- Application and professional details. Your name, work email, company, title, website, location, membership type, partnership interests, timing, referral information, and information you include in an application.
- Account and membership records. Account identifiers, authentication and session information, organization memberships, application decisions, feedback, and account status. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider rather than displayed to Cooper reviewers.
- Workspace activity and commercial information. Profiles, listings, briefs, saved opportunities, introduction requests, deal-room records, preferences, review history, and actions within your organization.
- Uploaded materials. Decks, supporting documents, audience evidence, cover images, and associated file details, including personal information contained in materials you choose to upload.
- Communication preferences. Newsletter signup details, interests, consent records, and preferences for updates.
- Technical and security information. IP-related information, browser and device information, request and access logs, session cookies, and records used to prevent abuse and investigate account access.
Information comes from you, authorized people in your organization, your use of the Service, and authentication or hosting providers. If you provide someone else’s personal information, make sure you are authorized to do so.
03. How we use information
We use information to assess applications, issue and manage invitations, verify identity, provide organization access, review and publish approved opportunities, support partnership workflows, respond to requests, protect the Service, and keep records of important decisions.
We also use information to provide requested account messages and updates, maintain the Service, enforce applicable agreements, and meet legal obligations. Newsletter or promotional communications are separate from necessary account or application messages and depend on your signup or applicable permission.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing depends on the purpose: taking steps you request or performing an agreement, operating and protecting the Service for legitimate business interests, meeting legal obligations, or your consent. You may withdraw consent for optional communications without closing your account.
05. Decks and document analysis
Uploaded decks and supporting documents are used to review and manage opportunities. If automated document analysis is enabled for a feature, relevant document content may be processed by the configured analysis provider to suggest structured listing details. Suggestions require review and do not automatically publish an opportunity or approve membership.
Only upload materials you have permission to share. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information. The availability and use of document-analysis features may change; additional notices will be provided where required.
07. Retention and security
Retention depends on the type of record and why it is needed, including an active application or membership, ongoing partnership work, support history, security investigations, legal obligations, and disputes. Application decisions and review or audit records may need to remain after account access ends.
We use access controls, authentication, and other safeguards intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Contact us if you believe your information or account has been accessed without authorization.
Closing an account does not automatically remove records held by other parties, materials already shared with authorized recipients, or records that must be retained for lawful purposes. You may request deletion using the contact method below.
08. Your choices and privacy requests
You may update available profile and preference fields in your account. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask about retention, email privacy@joincooper.com. You do not need to create a Cooper account to make a request.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights to receive a copy of information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, appeal a decision on a privacy request, or complain to a relevant regulator. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions and identity verification.
We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify a request or the authority of an agent acting for you. Do not email a password or unnecessary identity documents. We will explain if we cannot fulfill a request in full. Cooper will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You may unsubscribe from optional marketing messages using the method provided in the message or by contacting us. Necessary membership, security, and application messages may continue while relevant to your request or account.
09. Adults and international access
Cooper is intended for adult business users, not children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Cooper and its providers may process information in the United States or other countries where their infrastructure operates. Applicable data-protection requirements and safeguards depend on the relevant processing and jurisdiction.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as our practices or the Service change. We will post a revised date here and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@joincooper.com. For other legal matters, contact legal@joincooper.com.
